We had a wonderful stay at Cathy's. The setting was very picturesque and we had a good pub recommendation, plus got to meet the ponies which our kids loved. Thanks for having us!
The most restorative four days we have had in years. The cottage is even more beautiful in person, and the walks straight from the door are extraordinary.
A truly special place. The children loved the garden, we walked the Downs every morning, and the cottage itself felt like a small piece of England we never wanted to leave.
Lovely location, charming and quiet part of the world with walks right by the house. Cathy and Ranjit were very welcoming and a pleasure to meet. The accommodation is just as described — very comfortable and well equipped. Chichester is a short drive away and well worth a visit.
Absolutely perfect little cottage in a stunning setting. Spotlessly clean, beautifully kept and so peaceful. We'll definitely be back.
Beautifully kept, thoughtfully equipped, and the welcome from the owners was warm without being intrusive. We have already booked again for the spring.
A real gem. The cottage has everything you need, the welcome from Cathy was warm and the walks straight from the door are some of the best in the South Downs.
One of the loveliest places we've stayed. Quiet, characterful, and the village pub is a four-minute stroll down the hill. Highly recommended.

The setting
A tranquil village in the South Downs.
West Marden is a quiet flint-and-brick village on top of the South Downs in West Sussex. Footpaths leave the village in every direction — onto the South Downs Way, into Stansted Forest, down the lanes to neighbouring hamlets.
Chichester, with its cathedral, harbour and theatre, is twenty minutes by car. Portsmouth and the coast, a little more. Goodwood is closer still. Yet from the door of either cottage, you'd never know any of it was there.
